I finally did it...I took my animal loving little mama to the zoo! We met up with Mandi and Elle at Lincoln Park Zoo yesterday and Uncle Matthew joined us too! I forget how amazing it is to have a ZOO right smack dab in the middle of a city. A world of wildlife in the shadow of skyscrapers. What a delight! We got to see about half the animals...zebras, seas lion, monkeys, apes, lions, camels, and deer. The monkeys were one of our favorite exhibits because they were the most active. After seeing the animals we plopped down on a grassy knoll and had a little picnic. Sadie did really well and stayed up about about an hour past her nap time without any major tantrums. She was a little shy with Elle at first, but by lunch time was saying her name and was much more enthusiastic about sharing the wagon with her. I didn't have to bribe her with popcorn like I did earlier :) We had such a great time and I hope this was the first of many summer adventures together!
P.S. Thanks Gene and Krysia for the wagon. It worked great!
P.S.S. You might notice I had to change Sadie's shirt several times...so much for reducing my laundry costs.
