Sadie continues to surprise me with her new skills, behavior and warm interactions. She's very curious and into many things. She communicates her frustrations by throwing a tantrum and communicates what she wants by pointing combined with a word or two and some babbling. She can go up and down stairs well. Loves to plays with balls and can throw well. She's even attempted to kick the ball! She brushes her teeth. Imitates sounds more and more. Points to her nose and belly button and shows us her teeth. She loves coloring, stacking blocks, and ketchup. She recently started calling Juan "mama" and saying "uh oh, you ok?" And she's just a few teeth shy of sporting a mouthful.
Over the past several weeks she has become more independent in her walking. I can't believe how quickly she learned. She went from having absolutely no interest in walking to full blown walking in about 5 weeks. Now, she's walking all over the house. We haven't had any major falls - most of the time she either regains her balance or gracefully plops to the floor on her butt. She's very cautious and carefully weighs her options.

I'm so glad that Sadie has taken up a love for books. I've always wanted her to love reading. She will often sit and read several to herself.
I don't know what it is about a pile of clothes but she can play in one for a long time sorting and unsorting...often finding underwear to adorn herself with (3 different pairs in this shot).

She loves pulling things off shelves and out of boxes.
She likes dressing her self and has learned to put on her socks...half way, and also got a shirt around her head. Now she's trying pants.
Her favorite pasttime is being outside. I have to be strategic about when I open the door to take trash out or run out to the car. As soon as she hears the door open she runs to it and begs me to let her outside. Here she is trying out her new bike and waving bye-bye to Juan. She's still too little for it but enjoys just sitting on it or having me push her around.
She can literally spend an hour playing in the dirt, moving it around and covering herself in earthy brown goodness. I guess I've got myself a helper for gardening this year.
A day without tantrums has been a rarity as of late.
Every kid, at some point in their life, has fallen asleep with their butt straight up in the air. Sadie has officially joined their ranks!
Now that the weather's getting nicer I've been keeping myself busy by re-doing furniture and clearing out weeds and rocks in the garden in hopes of expanding it this year. I've also been watching Miguel and Ale's daughter Maddy twice a week. She and Sadie have taken to each other quit well.
