Early "Birthday" Present

Sadie is five months old today and I didn't even realize it until I started writing this post!

On Thursday, while taking a family walk around the neighborhood, we noticed Sadie chewing on something (she ends up with the craziest things in her mouth lately).  To our surprise it was her very first CHOMPER!  We felt so proud that she accomplished this milestone, and with such humility!  She wasn't even cranky that day or trying to draw attention to it.  And yes, I did almost cry.  It's been a big week for her (she also moved into her own room) and I can't believe she's growing up so fast.  Anyway, this explains the drooling, oral fixation, crying jags, sleeplessness and CRANKINESS.  I know what you're thinking, "this adorable baby girl couldn't be cranky,"  but don't let her fool you... she's got a little bit of diva in her.  I wonder where she gets it from? :)  So, contrary to what our pediatrician said, teething time has arrived and poor Sadie is battling both comfort and sleep.  The peaceful days of her youth are a thing of the past.  But, as you can see, this lack of sleep isn't affecting her beauty!  She's still our precious little mama.

Four Months, 2 Weeks and 6 Days Old

I don't know what's been keeping me so busy - I've been meaning to post this entry for a few weeks now and just haven't gotten around to it...  At her four month check up, Sadie weighed in at 14 pounds and was 25 inches long putting her in the 50th percentile.  She's a typical laid back four month old.  She babbles, smiles, laughs and squeals.  She eats and sleeps well and just about anyone can make her smile.  We love her dearly!  She shows endless interest in her environment and is exploring more of her surroundings.  She plays with her hands, bats and reaches for toys, and any object that she gets a hold of goes directly into her mouth.  She is showing a clear preference for Juan and me and recognizes our voices.  And call me crazy but I think she may know her name as well!

A few things about our Little Mama:
She loves to be sung to,
enjoys watching people dance,
spends more time in the bouncy chair I'd like to own up to,
loves her mochu but also loves her hands,
doesn't get bathed as often as she should,
is beginning to love her blanket,
smiles easily,
cries rarely,
screams for fun,
still has her hair,
loves being held more than life itself.

She is the perfect addition to our family.

She got her ears pierced!
