We Survived the Blizzard!

Chicago, a city that usually sneers at winter and snow was brought to a near standstill on Wednesday by a mammoth winter storm. It was reported we got some 20" of snow when it was all over, the third highest snowfall in Chicago's history. The snow was joined by fierce winds, hail, thunder and lightning, making for a rare "thunder snow." Chicago Public Schools were closed for the first time in 12 years, Lake Shore Drive was impassable - stranding hundreds of motorists for eight hours or more, no US mail was delivered, O'Hare reported over 2,000 canceled flights, and Brookfield Zoo was closed for the second time in 77 years (the first was in 2008 because of flooding). It was wild!  But Sadie didn't mind, she got to spend some extra time with her Papi.  :)

Poor Sadie couldn't open her eyes because it was so bright outside

Didn't Juan do a great job shoveling?!

  1. Keep up the awesome blogging! I really enjoyed your writing on this one. On a side note I was thinking about you and your parking spots the other day.
