Isn't She Lovely

I just couldn't help myself in posting these pictures. Do you blame me?! They make me want to sing Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely." Go ahead, sing it with me...

Isn't she lovely
Isn't she wonderful
Isn't she precious
Only four months old - per me ;)
I never thought through love we'd be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn't she lovely made from love

Isn't she pretty
Truly the angel's best
Boy, I'm so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can't believe what God has done
But isn't she lovely made from love

Spring Fever

Sadie and I went out for our first walk of the year yesterday.  I put her in the baby carrier rather than the stroller so she can look around and experience everything... and so I can get a better workout!  You can't tell from the picture, but I think she really enjoyed herself.

Happy Valentine's Day

My parents bought us tickets to a Valentine's day dance at Matthew's Polish school where he performed a few cultural dances he's been learning for the last few months. We had a blast! Sadie was up the entire time and didnt complain once! She really loves little kids and music so I guess she was in heaven. After watching the kiddies perform, Sadie got a slow dance in with her papi and grandpa. It was the sweetest thing  :)  And to top off the perfect evening, Sadie had a sleep over with Matthew while Juan and I got a night alone. Thanks Mom and Dad, we so appreciated it!

On Valentine's day, Juan had daisies sent to the house for Sadie and me to enjoy. Daisies are my favorite flower...they're just so friendly.

She was mesmerized by the kids dancing

I don't want to brag, but isn't she adorable?!

My Baby is 3 Months Old

It's funny how much you learn in three months. I'm a master burper, soother, and butt wiper...I know, I've come so far  :)  I'm also cry-lingual. Sadie has three main cries. A tired cry, hungry cry, and a diva cry. I've mastered the first two, but the diva cry...oh boy!

We simply could not imagine life without Sadie. She is such an easy baby. I am surprised at how little she sleeps during the day now, but she is still sleeping like a champ at night.

She's discovered her voice and loves to squawk and talk. It's so dang cute :) She also still loves to be swaddled. How crazy is that?! And although she doesn't mind tummy time, she's not that great at rolling and I think it's because I hold her or put her in the bouncy chair all the time.

She's a happy little gal as long as she's being held or paid attention to - she doesn't want to miss a thing!  And yet, as I watch her smiling and kicking and playing in her play gym I'm realizing my little newborn is turning into a full-fledged "baby" and I'm determined to savor it.

Juan took some "3 month pictures"...a couple weeks late :)

She LOVES her papi! I don't blame her :)

We Survived the Blizzard!

Chicago, a city that usually sneers at winter and snow was brought to a near standstill on Wednesday by a mammoth winter storm. It was reported we got some 20" of snow when it was all over, the third highest snowfall in Chicago's history. The snow was joined by fierce winds, hail, thunder and lightning, making for a rare "thunder snow." Chicago Public Schools were closed for the first time in 12 years, Lake Shore Drive was impassable - stranding hundreds of motorists for eight hours or more, no US mail was delivered, O'Hare reported over 2,000 canceled flights, and Brookfield Zoo was closed for the second time in 77 years (the first was in 2008 because of flooding). It was wild!  But Sadie didn't mind, she got to spend some extra time with her Papi.  :)

Poor Sadie couldn't open her eyes because it was so bright outside

Didn't Juan do a great job shoveling?!
